I felt GURU is worth watching once. Much much better than many of the
well marketed but poor quality story type movies, that are coming these days from chopra and johar camps like dhoom2,KANK,fanna etc.
My reasons
1. Acting (Abhisheik in an award winning role, and ably supported by everyone).
2. Story + Screenplay + Direction: Very well narrated.....events and emotions captured superbly. I liked the way ratnam picturized ARR songs. but Yes, Yammo Yammo song was totally avoidable, as it does not fit into storyline.
Though some may argue about GURU is justifying the main character 's mideeds to reach the top, but i felt this is a fresh and a brave attempt. Because perhaps this is what a young first generation entrepreneur had to do those times with government limitations n bureacratic practises then. Ambanis just did that, else we would have been left with only Tatas and Birlas.
Even I am waiting for SeI, and hope that advani has done full justice to the superh SEL Music. just like Ratnam has done with ARR 's music. _________________ Mandar

has it even been announced?
I didnt like the second one as much as the first one. The second one got a little preachy and to me it wasnt as funny and refreshing as the first one! Plus vidya is waaaaaay younger looking than Sunjubaba, so that didnt click either!(yeah yeah....na umr ki seema ho, no janam ka ho bandhan..., but still!). Gandhigiri is great...but still a little preachy! Now Khosla ka ghosla...BESHT! _________________ :: neha ::

| I've watched Guru, I somehow expected more from the movie, so some disappointment was on it's place. Although, not a bad movie. SEI released Thursday, haven't seen it yet though as I didn't have time this week. Looking forward to see that one coming week, and I'm sure the movie is as enjoyable as the music album, which I still love! |

Watched SeI yesterday....the movie is good in patches....second half is much better than first half...During the first half n hour of movie ....plots just get shifted around haphazardly with many of the characters overacting..and you wonder what is going on.
Had it not been for SEL's brilliant music, some good acting and a better second half...the movie would have been below average. I felt that the john-vidya, govinda -sharon isra and even akshay-takiya track of the movies are better. Rest of the plots are just are not gripping. _________________ Mandar
