watched it and was surprised that it won many oscar nominations-notably the music score is good, especially BG and one song JAI HO ...not very sure it deserves an oscar nomination.....may be my unintiated view, but if I compare this with TZP,on all counts that it has been nominated for ,TZP was way ahead....

To conclude this with a judgement, who has made the film matters more than what they have delivered-In otherwords TZP was not directed by Danny Boyle or any other brit-but by an Indian....definitely not provoking rascism....Indians have a long way to go not in substance but definitely in the image/brand perception..phew

You cant compare Slumdog with TZP. Slumdog was running for best movie (english) so there was not much competition, whereas TZP was running for best foreign language film (from numerous countries), so obviously best foreign film is tough competition.

As far as nomination of Slumdog is concerned among other english movies released in 2008, I think it definitely deserves nomination.

i think slumdog millionaire has an amazing sound track. i thoroughly loved the score. and arr deserves the oscar. i dont understand this comparision of movies and music. why r u comparing tzp with slumdog? just enjoy them separately.
there is a time and place desitined for everything on this planet. this is a r rahman's time, after all these years, everything is fitting in nicely for him, and i along with millions of other fans am happy for that.

Thank you Mouat and Jay,

Mouat :Yes,I do understand that -That is precisely the point I was trying to make-If TZP was produced by a London house and directed by some one from abroad-That would have had better chance of making it to the ranks of Oscar !

Jay :I have never done any comparison of this kind in the past and probably would not have here too-I probably got worked up when TZP was also being pushed for a Oscar Nomination-and this one made the rank for audio score-I was surprised-I too liked the score as I wrote-But once something enters the global stage and another does not-comparisons are bound to arise. After all only by comparing the creative works at various levels-Oscars are won.I still would be happy for ARR and probably sad some thing better did not make the grade. My view...

Sorry for pursuing this-I needed to clarify. Thanks again
